Trigger Section |
As you have already seen in the Samples section of this manual the key that triggers a sample is defined next to the sample. RM2 also offers some more settings related to triggers. | ![]() |
Channel
Here you define with which channel an instrument gets
triggered. A setting of "all" (which means MIDI
omni mode) and selection of channel 10 (standard MIDI
drum channel) are common. We recommend using channel 10. When you set up a bass instrument that should be played over the keyboard you should give it a different channel from your drum instruments, so that they don't mix up. |
|
Key Here you can set up whether the key information is displayed as note name (setting C3) or in numerical form (setting 36). Additionally the 1:n-switch allows locking all samples within one instrument to be triggered with the same note. So whenever you change one sample's Key all the other samples will get the same trigger key. | Center This parameter is only valid for samples with a trigger note set to "all". It defines the center note of those samples. If you, for example, set Center as "C1" and play a C2 the sample will be played one octave above its original frequency. This allows you to play bass and synth sounds as well. |
